Recommend stuff for my XD-40SC
I'm looking at a few things for my pistol. I'd really like a holster under my shoulder as seen here: https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ambidext_cbbe.htm
I don't understand the size system they use (1, 2, 3 etc) and I'm wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about these. A 9mm conversion would also be nice. EFK's website isn't entirely clear on their barrels. I can't tell which barrel converts what into what. Finally, are all XD mags interchangeable? Will an XD-9 magazine work in an XD-40SC? |

The XD-9 mags will not work in the XD-40 without modification as far as I understand. If you want to go with a shoulder holster set-up, then go with a quality setup to begin with and you won't have issues with comfort or any other issues with it. For example, the Galco shoulder holster setup is known to be one of the best. I have a couple of their holsters and love the quality. If you decide to go with Galco, pm me and I will set you up with the guy I dealt with over there. He's VERY nice and easy to deal with. Although it may cost more money, you'd be better off starting with a better holster to begin with in my opinion. Just my .02

The Galcos definitely look like a higher quality setup, I think I'll go with one of theirs for sure.

I've done a lot of research on shoulder holsters.
I'd like a nice Galco or Alessi holster for my XD45c. From what I gather they are more of a novelty than anything. Unless you will use it a lot or on your job, they aren't very practical. And if you need one as mentioned above, you would need to get a high end leather model as suggested. Although if I had the $$$ I would buy one. But I'm not going to get a cheap one that would print through your clothing. But get whatever you want, I'm by no means trying to tell you what to do. A good IWB holster is going to be easier to conceal and draw. Or a good OWB would be the same. One thing you might want to get is finger extensions for your mags. That way you can get a full grip on it. I doesn't hinder in concealment that much.. Springfield Armory XD Series Good luck Bro....
