XD w/night sights

Does anyone have factory night sights on their XD? This will be my bedside gun so it would be nice to have them, but I will also be shooting a lot during the day and was wondering if they are harder to see. I know they don't glow in the daylight, but my experiences show that they are typically a little grey and harder to see than the plain white dots in the daylight. Can anyone recommend getting with our without for about 75 bucks more?

Have the Trijicons from the factory on my 40SC. LOVE 'EM! 100% better than the regular steel sights.

At night, they are very bright. During the day, they have a very nice sight picture to them.

Don't worry about the dots in the daytime, to me they are actually a distraction, but on the Trijicons they work great.

If it's gonna be your nightstand gun, GET A WEAPON LIGHT. Night sights are great, but if you can't see / ID the target, the sights are useless.

Awesome, thanks! Does the XD have Trijicons or some other brand?

I have the Hieni Straight eight config on my XD40. I love them, Awesome sight picture at night, very fast to pick them up with my failing eyes day or night. Very low profile to prevent snagging - Great feature for concealed carry and they came from factory that way.

At first I was hesitant as I had never shot with the straight eight configuration before. Took no time at all to acclimate and now I feel funny when shooting 3 dot configurations.

I would recommend getting them now, It will cost close to twice that to get them later..

I currently have Tru Glo's. Yellow rear, green front. And they are great at night. I get to take it to the range tomorrow to see how they hold up through 200 more rounds, then 40 more for my CWP Saturday.

I just bought my 1st gun recently (XD9) w/ the night sights. I noticed the front sight did not glow. Hard to tell if the little pice fell out or if it just wasnt glowing. Well anyway I had to send the slider back to springfield. Should be an easy fix. Im just wondering how long before i get my slider back. Anyone have any experience with sending anything back to springfield?

I've got the Trijicons with my xd 45 and love them. They are easy to see both day and night. You can get the xd with Triji's installed from the factory. Got mine for about $80.00 installed.

+1. I too was reluctant at first but took the plunge. Now I have three guns that either came with them or I had them installed. I shoot them as accurate as any 3-dot sight. I should add though, that the Hienie Straight 8"s I got from Springer Precision on my XD9SC seem to be a better, higher quality than those that came on my PT1911. I believe it's because the Taurus sights are "licensed". The Hienie's from Scott Springer's shop have a silver lining around the tritium vials as opposed to a white surrounding lining on the Taurus Hienies (Trijicon vials) and they seem to be of a tighter tolerence as far as how the vials are inserted.
