What tactical light do you prefer?
I'm trying to decide on what tac light to get for my XD-9 Tactical. I would appreciate some input from those who use or have used tac lights and which ones they find to be the best. Post pics of your setup if you got 'em! Thanks

I use Streamlight M-3s on both my XD40 4" and my wife's G23. THey are house guns. There are more expensive and higher quality lights out there, but they would do the same for me that the less expensive M3 does. I got mine from CTD for about $75.

lots of threads on this....TLR-1 for light TLR-2 for light and lazer...i think you can find the 1 for 90 to 120 and the 2 for maybe 200 to 250...either one is fantastic...long lasting bright white LED.

I can't agree more on the TLR-1. The performance for the price is great. There may be some better performing lights out there, but they will come with a much higher price.

I want a TLR1 for the shotgun, but for pistols, I prefer a hand held Surefire L2. I want a WALL OF LIGHT when I fire that thing up!

I use a TRL-1 because it was cheap when I got it. 85$.
If you do buy a light then remember the fact that every time you put it on the gun you are putting your fingers dangerously close to the muzzle. A separate light makes it easier to keep your hands away from the front of the gun. If you are set on a weapon light then also remember that it is not a search tool. Searching a house or dark area with a weapon mounted light puts the weapon as the first thing pointed at anything the light touches. Finger off the trigger is highly recommended and required for this kind of search technique.

hmmm... a lot of people are saying the TLR-1.
I have a question about the Surefire X200. I know I've seen this posted before but now can't find it. Which Surefire X200 has the tighter beam, the X200A or the X200B? Also, why is the X200 generally $250 at a lot of online retailers compared to the new X300, which is $225? |

The Surefire X-series are removable. That should be factored in for your selection. Are you going to leave the light on the gun all the time? I do so a TRL-1 was no big deal for me. If you carry your gun you may have trouble finding a holster to carry the gun-light combo. The Surefire would be better because you can put it in your pocket.
