Always no matter your sights don't forget to practice your point shooting. In a rel life gun light that might very well be what can save your life

Thanks for the info. lostone1413 as we are the same age and I also need that edge as the eyes just don't adjust as fast as they used to. Well, I just picked up my XD .45 and placed my pre-order for one of the new Tritium SureSights. After talking with a number of people and from my particular circumstances I went with it. Thanks for your input and if I cannot adjust to the SureSights then the HexSites will be my next purchase.

Hexsites
I currently own a set of the Hexsites. Without a doubt they are the best combat handgun sights I have ever found. I don’t know anything about the Suresites, so I really can not give an opinion on them other than they are very colorful, and look unique in design. I have owned probably just about every different type of handgun site out there, and the Hexsites is by far the fastest and most accurate site I have played with. The rear site in its design gives reference to front site zero almost subconsciously as the weapon is brought into your main aria of focus. This means that you can accurately aim without loosing focus on your primary target, or your battlefield awareness. You can engage and shift without ever loosing focus on multiple aggressors as well. The day I received my sights I had them installed by the owner of the local gun store. By the time I got home it was roughly 8:30 pm I walked to my little range I have behind my house and set up some targets. Under normal circumstances the long shadows would make the target (standard NRA 25m pistol target) almost imposable to determine. I did standard draw and fire, five round drills (week hand unsupported, strong hand unsupported, strong hand supported, ect.) all groups were roughly the size of a silver dollar. Now the true test was when I did a quick draw from inside my waste band, drew my surefire with my week hand, supported, identified, and fired. This took roughly a second, my target was a ¼ inch sapling, that I blew in half at 30yards. As for a moving target, while I was on my balcony I saw a rabbit in my garden. I did not have the time to go back inside to get my 22 rifle so I use my Glock 24 loaded with my favorite hand load (155gr Hornady XTP HP being pushed by 7.5gr Unique powder). I shot the rabbit at 50+ yards with a perfect head shot. The little beast had partial concealment behind the potato plants and was creeping slowly. THESE SIGHTS WORK!!!! Now as for tritium sites, I will let you in on a dirty little secret. When police departments started using them Fratricide went up 80%. Yes they can help you engage a target I the darkest setting, but that target may not be an aggressor. The other little secret is that your eye will automatically focus on the brightest object in the room. This takes focus off the target. It may be only for a second or so but that second could cost someone there life. Go with Hexsite your wont be disappointed.

How about just whiting out the front post on your stock sights and black out the back ones? I've got white tape that I can put on there just to see if it helps visability just as an experiment.

The Sure Sight front sight is almost twice as high as the standard front sight (.165" ).....the front sight is the more likely sight to exhibit a "snagging" problem in holsters or with clothing. I use a Slide Clip for in the wasteband carry (No conventional holster) The standard HexSite is also .165" high .....no higher than the OE sight. and the way it is angled i have never had a snag. The rear HexSite is approx. two tenths (.200") higher than standard, and do to it's design it poses no snagging problem , either in duty carry or concealed carry or during "clearance drills" (it actually can work as an assist to smaller or less strong individuals who are having hand slippage problems while working the slide, they put their hand just in front of the rear sight and it functions as a stop against their fingers) and has fit in all existing holsters. The big plus is that the design of the front area of the rear sight will allow the execution of all "one-Hand" chambering techniques.....a very important function if your "off hand" is busy doing something else or has become damaged during the fight and you have a pistol with an empty chamber. the front site ca be used in the same way as well. I hope this info helps.
