TruGlo TFOs - green/green or orange/green ?

Hello all,

I just got my first XD (XD-9 sub compact Bi-Tone) and am thinking of changing the sights to the TFOs.

For those that have seen/shot/compared the single color and mixed color ones...
Which ones do you prefer ?
Why ?

Thanks for the information!

Different Colors

I know that the objective is to draw the eye to the front sight, and doing so the rear sight is only used for sight allignment. having different colors helps the eye do this much easier than sights of the same color. FRONT SIGHT, needs to be the color the eye see's the best. GREEN!

Day or night?

It depends if you will be using them primarily in the daytime or a combination of day and night. In the dark, the orange insert is dull compared to the green. The green/orange looks great in day light but the orange is much harder to see at night than the green.

I have green/green which I love, but would have gone with the multi color if the option was available at the time.

Green Green on my service 9. Looks good, and they're bright! Had them since last June.

I just got my gun back from having TFOs installed last night.

The TFOs are great, and bright, but one thing I noticed is that when it's very dark, I get a "double image" if I keep both eyes open (which I've been trying to do while shooting), so I see 4 or 5 dots and not just three. I'm thinking if the front sight was a different color, it would be a little easier to distinguish the sights in the dark and line them up, but on the other hand, in a SD situation, if you have time to line up the sights, it probably isn't an issue.

I have green/green but I'd like to try a different color combo so there is more contrast between front and rear sights.
