Decent prices. I wish more companies made conversion barrels for more guns. It sure would be a lot cheaper to be able to shoot 9mm from my .45 P220

These barrels are great!!

I have one of these. It's the 9mm conversion barrel that fits the 40 s&W and the 357 Sig. It's a great buy. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. If you want to see one in action go to youtube.com and search for rodasj All my videos should pop up and just find the one that says xd40 with 9mm firedragon conversion barrel. Good times.

When you drop a 9mm conversion barrel in an XD, will it shoot just as accurately as it did in its primary caliber?

Yes. Though it may or may not need to be fitted.

Are there certain XD conversion barrels that are sold as "drop-in", making it less likely that you need to fit them?

Those barrels made by EFK are sold as being "drop-in."
More than likely (99% chance) you will not need to have one fitted, but I won't be the one to make any guarantees.
I have an EFK barrel in my XD45 tactical and it did not need any fitting; it's not a conversion barrel but all their barrels are made to be drop-in, so I guess what I'm saying is, in my experience there should be no need to have an EFK barrel fitted.

I watched your youtube videos, did you swap out the factory 40 spring to a lighter #14 or so 9mm spring?

I should be getting my 9mm barrel tomorrow (exactly like yours) and picked up a #14 spring to use because I figured the factory xd40 spring would be too heavy to eject the casings reliably.

To shoot a different caliber than a gun was originally designed for is going to take more than just a barrel swap.

While you might be able to make a barrel that chambers 9mm, and fits in a .45 slide, you're going to have a problem because the base of the cartridge will be too small for the breech face on the slide. The rim will not engage the extractor properly.

Likewise, a .40 barrel made to fit into a 9mm slide--you're never going to get the gun to go into battery, because the base of the .40 cartridge won't fit into the 9mm breech face.

Barrels can be swapped to turn a .40 S&W into a .357 Sig, and vice versa. Same for the .45 ACP and 400 Cor-Bon. However, the original poster's (advertiser's) claims that the 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig barrels are all interchangeable is wrong.
