Thanks for all the info guys! I'll be getting my CCW in a few weeks and I actually came across these undershirts about an hour ago on the net. Being someone that wears concert hoodies everywhere this seems like a good investment for me.

That would be cool though...to draw right through your otherwise normal looking shirt.... J. |

Hmmm...Judging by where its positioned, ide say you could probably cut open the back of the pocket and get fairly decent access to the undergear shirt. It might vary person to person though...depending on their stature and build.
That would definetly be pretty cool though. You could "deep conceal" without as much hassle as having a regular shirt that you'd need to either pull up or rip open. J. |

Cool! Definetly post up when you find out how it works! Im kind of curious myself now. I thought about picking up a couple of those shirts when I need something casual but not too casual. Might get me to buy a couple if it works!

These shirts have become my standard casual dress with jeans, as you can see in my avatar.

I have two of these holster shirts, and have used for the last year. Agree with you Ghetto: they are quite good. Not perfect, but very very well made, pretty comfortable, and an OUTSTANDING option for all-day, deep concealment carry when it's critical that no one can find out you are carrying.
I have one situation--cannot reveal details--where technically the private organizational rules are for no carry. But I choose to "conscientiously object" and to exercise my God-given right to self-defense so I carry anyway (this is just a private org, not a law). In this situation, I use the 5.11 holster shirt, and I have never had a problem carrying. If I get in a situation where someone might hug me or lean up against the side where the CCW is (a fairly rare occurrence, but it does happen), I simply clamp my arm over the CCW, and can still huge the person that way, or if my daughter wants to lean against me (as in church), I switch and put her on the other side. Other than those two situations, this is total, deep concealment. And it's comfortable, and I never have to think about it. Any tips or downsides? * A tad bit hot/itchy, if you're in hot outdoor weather. * Might be tough to wear if you're extremely heavy, as the lower part of the shirt is pretty tapered going down toward your waist. * I wouldn't try to carry a really large CCW, but an XD sc works great, and probably a service model would as well. * If you're pretty sure you want to go this way, get two, one white and one black, as they'll go better under different colored shirts. * Make sure you still have some other holster options. This is ONLY for the deepest type of concealment, and as mentioned, it WILL be a slower draw. You should only carry this way when you need to. |

**update**
Hey guys/gals. Just a little update. I got my carry permit on friday. Today I woke up, and put the holster shirt on, and was planning a quick walmart trip...as tradition. I didnt get far with that plan though. Ended up going to a buddies house to help him work on his jeep alittle, then ran to home depot, then back to his place. Finally over to my other friends sister's house for awhile.
Had my XD-9 Service on me and a spare 16 round mag all day. It took me alittle bit to "forget" about it, just like before wearing it around the house. It was VERY comfy to drive with because I prop my left elbow up on the door and drive with my left hand. So I couldnt even feel it. No one noticed. And the nice thing was, with all the bending over and moving around I did working on the jeep, it never printed or showed. I know a IWB is good for most occasions, but I feel that it would pop out if I tried doing what I did today. I wore it for about 9 hours strait Ide say. So...so far so good! I gotta order a crossbreed, and get some pants that will let me wear it. Im going to be wearing a long shirt/jacket tomorrow, so I might try to carry with my Serpa too. We'll see how bad it prints...but it might be ok for what Ill be doing. Just thought Ide re-visit the thread now that I officially carried with it! Kudos to Chester County PA for getting my permit to me so fast. Under 3 weeks to get it. 5 minutes in the office 3 weeks ago, and it came friday. That was a nice surprise! J. |
