Sight Pusher
I have an XD 9mm I was looking for a sight pusher that would work on the front or rear sights. I have truglo TFO sights. One person said if I get the P500 pusher it would work on my XD and any other gun I have. I have read a few places that people have had allot of trouble getting the P500 to work. What would you recommend I get? I'd like one that would work on any of my pistols Thanks Chuck

Sight pusher
Cut a plastic tooth brush handle, and it becomes a plastic "punch", use the modified plastic tooth brush handle to drive the old sights out, and the new sights in. The plastic should not mar the pistols finish. It works, and doen't cost an arm and a leg.

Q: Can I put different sights in?
A: Yes. Some have a hard time, some easy. http://www.xd-hs2000.com/shopping B. I'm not a gunsmith, but I believe there are probably some high-dollar universal pushers that will work. I did find there are some high-dollar universal pushers that will not work. I would not allow anyone, including myself, to take a brass or steel punch to my XD. There are too many reports of 1) personality scratches and 2) broken tritium tubes. I'm sure it can and has been done with great success, but I don't want to risk it when there are much better solutions. Also, I can't see carrying a vise to the range for adjustment--and a punch won't be as accurate as a pusher when adjusting. Unfortunately, the stock rear sight on the XD is slightly wider than the stock rear sight on the Sig. I bought a Sig sight pusher (MGW) and found that it would only work with modification. I was able to modify the pusher to work and am very happy with the results. The slide fits nicely in the pusher and requires no shims. Sig sells the pusher for $200. I searched around and found several web sites that list them for $90. I got mine from TopGlock.com (I think).
