Mine took 19 weeks after I was quoted 12-14 weeks.
It was worth the wait!
Be patient, Grasshopper...

Call K&D, they can tell you when it will be shipped if they are building it right now.

Please don't worry. I have purchased four holsters from Kevin and I can assure you that they are worth the wait. I am like a little kid at Christmas when I order a new holster. I can hardly wait for it to arrive. But we need to remember that the more people call and e-mail about delivery status the less time Kevin is making holsters. We all should keep in perspective that hand crafting items takes time. The beauty and function of the crafted piece makes it worth the wait.

Or maybe hire another person or two to produce holsters? Seriously how many sales are lost because of this wait time? I'd love to have one of these holsters but not willing to wait that long.

Wild Bill's is the same way. A belt took months to get to me. Hire people, make more product, sell more product, make more money.

Taking on employees in order to speed things up is not always the right answer. An employee adds overhead and to reduce the cost of that overhead, you either need to raise your prices or greatly improve your output. Beyond that, an employee will NOT have the passion or pride that the owner has, and for this reason quality may suffer.

As in life, all great things take time.

Maybe Pistol Gear can become an authorized dealer for K&D holsters...

Yeah, then they could put the red "E-mail me when this is back in stock" quote next to all the K&D holster selections!

No, obviously an employee will never have the same passion about a product the owner will. Unless that owner is really lucky. But, at the same time, a company will never grow unless it expands. Hey, I am not fortunate enough to own a K&D because, frankly, I'm not patient enough and my Galcos do just fine. They look to be a fantastically crafted holster, however. But if they are as good as they look, then it's too bad they can't be turned out in greater numbers and with faster turn around because K&D would really profit from that.

All businesses start out small. It's just having the will to take them to the next level that makes them big businesses.

BTW I absolutely love that there are still craftsmen out there who take this kind of pride in their work!

I'm just an instant gratification guy, darn it, and I can't wait that long!

And thankfully, it looks like this really is a quality piece of equipment. Unlike the aforementioned Harley Davidson motorcycles from a previous post.
