Ok, just got the Lasermax XD-3XD

Really easy to install.

Just a simple swap, lever and rod

Not really digging the plastic battery cover, whish it was a metal screw on cover or something.

Testing

Replacement Rod, takedown lever, red paint on the switch

...easily taken care of.

Installed on XD-40SC vs stock XD-9SC

Extended grip feels better, shorter grip takes better pictures

.

Pretty much point blank, next to a quarter.

About 10ft, next to a quarter.

No range time yet, maybe next week.
My current impressions:
Laser pulsates only, no constant on <- whish that could be an option.
The laser beam is not as sharp as I hope it would be at longer distances (maybe because it is pulsating)
The on/off switch is very easy to use.

Don't have one in my XD yet but the one I put in my G27 shoots as advertised.

No, the package does not tell much, but lasermax's website claims 3" @ 15 yards, and laser is up to 25 yards. After my range time, I will agree.

OK, so just came back from the range...
Yep, accurate as advertised...
50 WWB
50 Blazer Brass
50 Cal Ammo Reloads
...no problems at all.

The laser is also now much cleaner (maybe I got a little oil on the lense before), but this is the same distance as above (much cleaner).

Only real gripe is the take down lever is not up to oem specks.
No big deal...just don't flip the lever to 12:00 or it scrapes the slide...a little over 11'oclock is good.

Well, as far as is this worth it, for me it would be yes.
This gun usually stays home, and is for personal protection.

It's mostly no fun at the range...
