Good Holster
Does anyone have a suggestion on a good holster for an xd40 service model? I guess I'm looking for more of a tactical holster made out of nylon not hard plastic

What's your intended use?
Concealed carry? Storage? IDPA? IPSC? |

IMO the Blachawk Serpa is a good compromise CCW / tactical holster, which are kinda opposing uses.
The Serpa does make the gun stand out from your hip a bit, which is good for tactical use, but not as easily concealable. The Serpa has a pretty neat retention device. Keep in mind, SOME people claim it may cause you to inadvertently finger teh trigger mid draw, which is bad juju. It has both a paddle and belt loop built in. http://www.blackhawk.com/images/cata..._SPORTSTER.jpg For concealment, you prolly want a pancake holster, and both Galco and Desantis make a good pancake (I've got a Desantis for my XD40 Serice, and its very nice. I'd recommend it) http://www.midwayusa.com/mediasvr.dl...eitemid=794348 Hope this is helpful to you. |

It's seems to be the holster of choice on XDTalk.

I'm not much for IWB's, so my answer is defintely slanted away from them.
I find IWB's very uncomfortable. |
