Question about Blackhawk Serpa holsters.

Hi, everybody. I'm new to the forums here. Just ordered a xD off the internet, should have it within a few days. I normally open carry, and sometimes cover it up with a shirt. I've used Fobus holsters before, and while they are a good paddle holster, I think the level of retention the Serpa provides would be far better, especially for OC. Anyway, here's my question...

Do the Serpa holsters completely cover the barrel of the 5" models? Or do they stick out an inch. I have (well, in a few days anyway) a 4" service model .45acp, and was wondering if the holster is actually too long for the gun, because i have the 4" barrel? I hope not...

Also, how do you know if the holster has the wrong securing pin (I think thats the part that needed to be replaced on some Serpas). If it's way loose?

Thanks, I plan on ordering the carbon fiber model. Any other suggestions would be great.

The Serpa is for the Service model in the sense that it will not cover the full slide of the Tactical. The gone will protrude from the bottom of the holster.
