Night Sights for XD-9-Service

I have an XD-9 Service, that I would like to have night sites installed.

I would like ones that have the 45 bevel on the outside for the rear sight, like what I have with the Champion Sights I had installed on my Springfield (though those are adjustable, I want fixed sights on the XD)

So, any recommendations?

This is what I have on my 1911:

You have 600+ post on this forum and you should know you've got the TFO guys and the Trijicon guys and the Dawson guys. Then there are the Mepro and XS Sights and a dozen others. I'm a TFO guy I have them on both my carry guns, a 45 Compact and a 9sc. You just got to shop everyone is going to have their own favorite. Most all have a bevel on the side for holstering but mepro and trijicon having the most pronounced.

Actually, I spend most of my time in the XD Talk discussing things like global warming, gun control and other hot topics - lol..

I have no idea what "fits" the XD, so I'm looking for something that is about as close to drop-in replacements for the 3-dot sights as I can get, and have my gun smith install them (they don't carry sights)

It took me over a week to find the ones I wanted for my SA 1911. My Beretta came with Trijicon...

The TFO are the brightest sights I have ever seen and they work equally well in daylight as night. Trijicon and Mepro, which have no fiber optics, tend to be harder to see in day time because they do not gather any ambient light. The TFO may be a little large for target shooting but for defence they're great. There is a lot of comments about the durability of TFOs and the early, over 6 months ago, ones had a problem with some cleaning solvents. I have had one set a year and one set about 6 months with no problems. I don't think any of the fiber optic sights should be exposed to harsh cleaning solvents. One really nice thing about the TFOs is they really help in locating your gun in the dark. It is probably a very wise choice to have a gunsmith install them. I would suggest that you consider buying your sights from a HS2000 sponsor and send then your slide so they can install them they have a lot of experience with XD. Getting the OEM sights off get be really frustrating if you don't know what you are doing.

I have TruGlo TFOs mounted on my XD9 Tactical which I use for IDPA and USPSA competition and on my XD45 Service which is my home defense pistol. They have functioned flawlessly for over two years now. I highly recommend them.

I am looking at having some work done on my XD9 SC and my XD45 Tactical. Right now, I am leaning toward sending them to the Springfield Custom Shop for the XD Carry Package. Honestly, I do not know which sight option to get. Does anyone know anything about the Springfield Custom 3 dot tritium night sights that come with the basic package?

I forgot about the sponsers for this site...anyhow bought a set of Trijicon sites from pistolgear.

I've done business with them before and have had good results

Don't forget the Heinie Straight 8 Slant Pros.

I was reluctant to leave the three dot style on all of my guns but I did with tritium Slant Pro Straight 8's on my XD9SC and my Taurus PT1911.

I'm finding I'm actually more accurate with them, even at 25 yards and that was my initial concern with them before I tried them. The inserts are Trijicon . . .
