Question on stock sights?

So after a couple range trips Im havign trouble focusing on my stock sights. I have a bottle of neon green testors model paint and i was wondering if I were to put that on my front sight would that help me draw my eyes to it better? Im assuming I could just try it anyways and if its not good just paint white right back over it. I figured I would post here first to see if anyone has tried this.

If I don't get night sights for Christmas I will probably do the same thing--I used green on the back and yellow on the front sight of my AK and I think it helps a lot.

My biggest problem is all the burned powder gets stuck in the front sight and it gets almost impossible to see

i just blacked out the dots on the standard sights and I shoot 100 times better. Don't know why, but I do much better shooting with simply sights than three dot.

I bought some of this same paint for my p3at and figured it couldnt hurt just to add it to the front sight of my XD. I like the contrast between the green and white.
