Anyone ankle carry the XDSC?
Just curious, I talked to Don Hume who makes a great ankle rig with a garter support, they said no issues from feedback, so I wanted to run it past you guys. I'll probably get another IWB but the ankle rig for dressy situations is always a good option as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got an Uncle Mikes just to test the possibility of ankle carry (God I loved to look of the check out girl when I got that - she looked like..WTF do you need with this?)
Anyway, that was one of the best laughs I've had in a while, it looked like a squirrel crawled up my pant leg. Nothing about it looked natural. I tried all positions but no luck. I did tuck it in Mexi style with my 45 and it was way more concealed than the leg thing. BTW I am 5'11" 155# 32 waist - not alot of room to hide stuff. Pants were Eddie Baued Dress slacks - not a straight leg or anything. What may work for some did not work for me. May just be that the XD9SC is a little bulky for this application. |

i picked up this WRB ankle holster on Ebay:
http://www.wrbsales.com/anbaho.html I got it for my Bersa .380 and it works fine. My XD 9 SC will fit in it. If my jeans are baggy enough, it's ok. Not very comfortable. I have to adjust the velcro a little to get a decent cant. I DO like it very much for ankle carry while driving. I'll usually have my IWB holster on but if i'm going to be driving long distances and worried about the area, i'll strap on the ankle holster and use it for faster draw through bad areas. but overall, the SC isn't made for ankle carry much. |

Just my opinion but it's a little big to ankle carry the XDSC?
BTW, I'm not a big fan of ankle carry I don't like the idea of having to bend over to get my weapon when time is critical. That time lose could be the difference between success and failure.

but for car rides, it's a viable option for a faster draw on your inside left leg if you're a righty. more comfortable than some IWB while sitting for extended periods, too.

I tried ankle carry on a pistol smaller than XD SC and hated it. After an hour it felt like a brick tied to my leg. It was just too uncomfortable for me. I have since gone back to belt holsters.

Anybody have any ideas on carrying the xdsc under a shirt on a vest for back-up? I have a generic holster, but it's way too thick and looks like a third arm on my side or something. Even empty it does this, so it's not just the gun.

Uncle Mikes has a Body Armor Holster. One of the officers I used to work with carried a .40SC in it every day.

I tried on an ankle holster for my SC this weekend. The man selling it, let me walk around the the gun show with it on to test it out. I was really close to buying it.
My reasoning for an anle holster is the fact that I'm kinda skinny (5'10" 150lbs). My IWB holster sticks out SOO far no matter what I'm wearing that I can't carry anywhere on my waist.
