supposedly only the non-compact 9mm models are any different...being only slightly narrower in the frame.

comp-tac told me that you can carry a 9mm service or tactical in an open bottom holster meant for a compact or 40/45, but it'd be a little looser...might have to tighten the tension screw all the way down.

I carry a gun for the same reason I own a smoke detector...I never, ever, plan on needing them...but if I do need them, and have them in a box...I won't be able to get to them for use fast enough.

my desantis is marked for XD9 and XD40 but it fits my XD45 just fine.

Well, I just happen to have a C.T.A.C. for my XD9 service. My XD45 Service will not fit into this holster. Your results may vary.

The XD9 seems to be the only non-interchangeable XD in the entire line-up
