Are Heinie Straight 8's as accurate as 3 dots? Dawson question too . . .
Focusing on the inherent accuracy potential, is there anything about the straight 8's that are any less accurate than a 3-dot sight out to 25 yards?
I'm asking because I am trying to choose between tritium Straight 8's or Dawson night sights for my XD9SC when I send it to Springer. Do the Dawson night sights hold up to the rigors of concealed carry with those exposed fiber optics? Thanks for the replies.

Yes they are! I am often more acurate with follow up shots to boot. Of course this all boils down to what you prefer...

you got to get use to them first. its like dotting a i or making a snowman or 8 out of the dots and then your shots will line up. it took me a while to get use to this , then i sold my taurus.

OK, I know what I'm going to say may be considered hearesy by many, but you dot look at the dots except at night when that is all you can see. You need to look at the top of the front sight if you want to really shoot fast and acurate.
I wouldn't say one is faster than the other, because they operate in same way, just a different configuration. |
