Holster advice for a fat guy
I bought an XD 9 subcompact for concealed carry. I am a rather large guy at 6'2" and 280lb. Where is the best place to wear my weapon and what type of holster IWB/OWB would anyone recommend?

I'm a similare size note sure about build but I jsut bought a C-Tac from another member and after an initial brainfart on my part I am currently wearing it just forward of my right hip give or take 2:30 with as much cant as I can get out of it and with my XD45 Service in it it is extrememly comfortable and is easily concealed by a simple t-shirt

I am 5'10" and weigh 230lbs I carry both IWB/OWB at 3:00. IWB I use a High Noon Bare Asset, IMO a great holster for the money, carries well and comfy. OWB I use a Fobus SP11B. For concealed carry with the Bare Asset I just wear a t-shirt thats a little big, covers everything with minimal printing. I carry an XD-45 service 99% of the time using the holsters mentioned. If I'm using the fobus its for open carry only so I have no concern about concealing. But I must mention that holsters are a personal thing and not everyone works for everybody, you may have to buy a few different ones to find one that works for you and your situation. Hope this helps.

Try wearing it on your belt right behind your hip(4:30-5:00 for righties or 7:30-7:00 for lefties). Your fat roll will help hide the gun and it is very comfortable!!

Thanks
Thanks for all the input! Most of my friends are relatively small compared to me so I figured my options were probably different.

i have to agree with bree...im 5'9 310 ish and i wear it behind my right hip, 4:30 position or so (right handed). i use the galco fletch for OWB and an uncle milkes or other generic nylon for IWB.
