The price difference is due to the material used for the rod. The CC rod is made out of Tungsten which is MUCH heavier (and more expensive) than the stainless that the DGR is made from. Weight helps reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil. In a 9mm, I'd probably go with (Well, I DID go with) the DGR and a stock weight (18#) spring.
Since the .40 has a bit more snap, I'm dropping the heavier CC rod in my XD-40, and I'll probably go with a 20# spring for that one... But I'll have to play with some different springs and find one that works for me. Last edited by Hooz; 09-16-2007 at 07:12 AM. |

I don't think so, the barrel lengths are a little different... even if its .40 and .45, I think the .45's barrel is like a 1/4" shorter or somethin... Not sure...

Lethal, the #20 spring rocks, as does the #22. I recommend that you buy 3 or 4 different weights and test fire a few hundred rounds with each. I have settled on the #20 as my favorite, the #22 isn't a whole lot different though.
