I think the general concensus regarding the xd gear holster is that it works well enough until you get a better replacement.

I like the Blackhawk CQC Serpa holster for OWB, and the Crossbreed QwikClip for IWB carry.

I've got the .45 5" and I like the holster that comes with it but I've been looking around at some others as well.

I posted the same type of question back a few weeks ago and the conventional wisdom was most folks don't like it...As for me, I like it ALOT for draw practice at the range and when I take advance weapon training classes.

for comfort and concealment i puchased six full rigs from www.haugenhandgunleather.com
for both my XD's .45 service bi-tones and both of my FN five-seven's. they are my daily carries(one of the two). i have learned buy right especially with custom leather and you will get years of service. this company product is receiving praise in the current handgunner issue. awesome price for a great pruduct, check them out. you may find plastic is okay at the range but about town - think about it. good luck
