spring life of 22# in xd40

How many rounds would you guys guess the 22# spring is good for before it gets weak?
Im thinking of going to the 24# for a little more life any input?

I do believe that this single spring setups are rated for around 2,000 rounds. I am not sure if that is full strength breakdown point or what but I read that in either another post or in a response from Don or one of his colleagues.. My memory stinks.

They are cheap though, and swap in less than 15 seconds. Just buy 3 or 4 of them and keep em on hand.

I do not sell sell springs and have no financial interest in springs, I just offer the rods for an option. That said...

The springs are cycled deep and have a short life. Guessing from 1911 users 2000 rounds may be good. Judge them by where the brass lands as a scale. When all else is the same and the brass starts to creep out consider changing them. It is not a sudden failure mode, so you have plenty of warning, and they are pretty cheap.
