Who is using laser sights?

What type are you using? I've seen some that undermount beneath the light and then there is Lasermax. Are there others?

I've read of some Glock owners that used Lasermax, but had issues with the gun cycling. Once they removed the Lasermax the problems stopped. Problem is I've also read of others that love them.

What are you guys using?

I use a TLR-2 light/laser combo on my duty gun (XD-45) and like it a lot. It allows for shooting in unorthodox positions and lets me be more aware of my surroundings when I am pointing my gun at someone since I don't need to concentrate on my sight picture. A laser should not replace you iron sights, however, just supplement them.

I don't have one but when taking an advanced CCW class that covered lowlight/night shooting one student had a laser on .38spc on the grip. It was a lot more effective than any of our guns, even those using those glow in the dark sights. The lady shooting it was hitting the targets w/o having to use the flashlight.

I have the M6 laser/light combo mounted on my XD45 Service. It works quite well for me.

+1 on TLR-2. Laser/light combo and can work in 3-modes. Flash only, laser only, or both. Has momentary and stay-on switches. It's a little long and sticks out past my 4" barrel. Gets a little flash burn on the focusing ring, but doesn't hurt it. I use this on my HD gun so I don't need to fumble with a flashlight.

No problems with this Lasermax unit. Others may tell you different, it is really hard using this at an indoor range. That red dot bounces all over the place and I always shoot better w/irons. It a good training tool to see how bad im jerking the gun using snap caps.

Guns magazine has an article by John Taffin on the LaserMax unit for the XD 45...he likes it!

I have a LaserMax unit on my S&W 1911...For me, it took a while to get used to, but for low light shooting it is awesome!

Thanks guys! I did a better search and found some info on here. It seems the internal Lasermax still has issues for many people (not all). If they weren't $300+ I'd risk it, but for nearly the cost of another gun I think I go with a light/laser combo of some kind.

There is the link to the undermount Lasermax Goodfella!

So Flo, I read that same article which contradicted things I had heard about the Lasermax guide rod version. After doing a better search here I found a thread where it was announced that the laser for the XD was finally shipping (back in March I think). Following the thread there were many that had issues and one that had a poor customer service response from them. For $330 it should work and the Customer Service would need to be better than what was posted. The thread covered about five months of posting too, so it covered some ground.

I read on the Crimson Trace site that they are soon to be releasing a grip model.
