Otis Cleaning Kits

Wasn't sure where to post this cause its not a mod and it isn't an accessory for the gun only so to speak. But I wanted to get some input on the: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...Id=18359909893 And http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...=18359909893#1 They seem really nice, allow you to clean from the breech forward and it's an all in one package. Anyone got one, please sound off. Think It's a great deal, Sound off. I plan on picking one up in the morning when I pick up my XD 40 Bi-tone, or maybe OD green. I still cannot decide honestly.

I bought the Otis Rifle Cleaning System All Caliber from Midway. It is ok I like the bore snake better. It does have its place if you need to scrub out a bore.

I have several of them, and have used them for quite a few years.

They can be really funky to learn, but once you get it they work great. I can get a very tight patch if I need to. You don't "have" to use their patches, but I do anyway. For me they are compact, easy to throw in a pack, or in my range bag should I need it.

so for cleaning 5 or 6 guns would you reccomend the the hundred dollar one or just the small one. for patches i have always used a couple yards of flannel, its cheap and you can cut it to any size you need. Both seem like a good deal but do you really need everything in the hundred dollar kit? this is my first cleaning kit. Thanks again

How many different calibers are you going to clean? I have the Tactical cleaning system to clean what I have, which .17, .22, .38, .308, .45, pistols and rifles. I also use it for my 12ga.

The system does work best with their patches.

Well I bought the tactical one to clean my BRAND NEW OD GREEN AND BLACK TACTICAL XD40. This is one sweet shooting gun. Already put 100 rounds through her a mix of CCI Wolf, and WWB All fired without a hitch. It's a lil to big for concealed carry but it just feels better than the four inch to me, feels alot like a 1911. I'm gonna go strip and clean my gun again.

The tactical's not a bad lil pouch to have around. I have a couple of them packed away from my days as unit armorer. It's not my favorite though. I got hooked up with this awesome one that is some where in the middle between the tactical and that big honkin' one with all the patchs. It had more tools than the tactical, could be hooked up to any m.o.l.l.e gear and came with a nice gerber multi-tool.

Congrats on the new XD, I'm new and loving mine too
