XS Express sights...
Just ordered the sights thru PistolGear. Went with the Express version of the big dot. Haven't seen them in use but it seems like a very good design and has good reviews. I am more than pleased with my new 9sc but my eyes are not as clear as they once were. Having the tritium in the middle of that big dot should help considerably. I'll report after installation.

XS Big Dots
Just got my sights installed this morning and although I haven't shot with them yet, I can already see a quicker "sight-in" when I'm dry practicing.
Good upgrade IMHO |

what is the "express" version? I had a sig 228 w/the bar-dot sights; they were great for me! I've been thinking about the big dots cause they are what I call bar dot/quick acquisition; great for self-defense.
I, too, await your range report! mikey |

XS 24/7 Express sights Big Dot or Standard
I think the "Express" comes from the original creator of the sights, hes a former peace officer named Ashley Emerson. They used to be called Ashley Express. I to await the range report. I recently picked up my 9mm compact and will either install the big dots or wait for Warren tactical sights to come out.

I've shot with the big dot sights and they are pretty fast close up. I will say that we have seen marked decreases in accuracy past 15 or so yards with them and in force on force training they are pretty poor at engaging threats beyond 20 yards or so. Yeah, I know the statistics on ranges of personal defensive shootings, but what if you happen to be the statistical fluke? I'll stick with convential night sights.

Damien in Seattle I don't list my guns - I know glocks, FALs, and AKs but I'm not sure my ability to fill a gunsafe with guns make me an expert on anything. All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting. |
