Barsto or Fire Dragon or other..
What's the best conversion barrel on the market? I have a Fire Dragon .357 sig barrel and it works great. I want to get a 9mm conversion and want to make sure I'm getting the most for my money.
Any help is appreciated. |

I also have a fire dragon and counldn't be happier with it. I say go with what you know, especially given the price difference. That being said, I've heard from those who went with the bar-sto barrels that they work great as well. I myself never found any direct comparisons when I was looking at getting a new barrel, so I'm interested to see if you do.
Also, from my experience and from what I've heard from other members, the fire dragons (by and large) are drop-in, requiring no fitting in the XD's (mine never needed fitting). I think the Bar-sto barrels take some fitting, adding to the cost if you don't feel confident in doing that yourself.

I have a drop-in barsto 40sw -> 9mm for my tactical and it functions great. Barsto is a HUGE name in aftermarket match grade pistol barrels. Has been for years. Until coming on this board a few years ago I had never even heard of the EFK ones. Almost everyone I know personally for the past few years that has upgraded the barrel on their gun or got a conversion, regardless of make and model, and wanted the most accurate, bought a Barsto.
Yeah, I know this sounds like an ad for Barsto, but I am just a happy customer.

I am probably getting a threaded barsto barrel for my xd. Are they (the threaded ones) match grade as well?
