good products to buy for gun care

Ive read a few threads on some handgun care products... but then i see a bunch of posts with ppl strongly disagreeing for various reasons.
Im wondering what exactly is really good for keeping my XD in tiptop shape.
I currently have Break-Free CLP , a run of the mill bore cleaning kit form wal mart and a silicon based cleaning rag. Anything else I should look towards investing in?

Blue wonder makes some great stuff. They are a forum sponser here. I am a locksmith and use their XFR (xtreme friction reducer) on the locks, works great.

Give their stuff a try,

exactly.. i checked out the blue wonder threads and with the good came that blue wonder was water based that works a negative wonder on barrels... kinda apprehensive about using that since my XD was made in 05 and SA didnt start using the melonite finish until sometime in 06

im not knocking blue wonder.. but i also dont want to run the risk of being one of those pissed off consumers of their products

There are hundreds of products on the market all working to varying degrees for different people. What may work well for one person doesn't work well for someone else. YOU will have to experiment to find out what works best for YOU in YOUR situation.

Many people have searched for years and tried dozens of products to find that magic one that meets their requirements. When they find it, it's like winning the lottery. Some people never find it.

If you are happy with what you are using, don't start looking for something else. If you aren't happy, start your search.

Here's my regimen;
  1. Periodic Militec treat in oven
  2. Wipe down with Eezox after Militec and whenever
  3. Oil/grease with Gun Butter or Tetra Grease
  4. Regular cleaning with CLP.
  5. Boresnake with CLP
Sometimes I use other stuff, like Boeshield T-9, but usually just the above.
