Why 22LR conversion kit?

Why do people want it? Just due to cost? I think it would be way more fun to have a 17HMR upper for my xd.

my 2 cents would anyone else want that? but of course I always want new calibers, like 357 sig, 10mm, 6.5 grendel(which is heaven by the way)

Most folks, myself included, would like a .22LR conversion because you can fire a much greater volume of rounds for much much cheaper than 9mm,40,etc in the "same" gun.

+1.

You can get 550 rounds of .22 for the price of 50 of the others. And by practicing with the same frame, you get the feel of the grip, controls, and trigger of your XD.

I would like a 22lr conversion just for plinking. My son (11) loves to go to the range with me and I would like to not have to spend a small fortune each time we go just to shoot at some cans.

The 6.5 has a OAL of 2.255" while the XD 9,.40,.357 have an max OAL of 1.169" and the .45ACPs max AOL is 1.3". Operating pressures for the 9mm and friends is max 35,000 psi for the .45 21,000psi for the grendel 45,0000 - 50,000 psi. I don't see a "conversion kit" for this round.

So let me ask this question...

Is there a conversion kit made for the Xd yet? I have yet to find one out there on the net. I have, or will have in two days (yea), a 5" 45 tactical.

I think that .17HMR is too long to fit in the grip.
