Need Holster for XD-40
Hey guys, just picked up a new XD-40 this past Friday. Thing is, no one has a holster for it around here. I was wondering what would be the best holster for my piece. My duty belt is a lether basket weave but at this time i dont care what its made out of, as long as it fits the gun. It's the typical 2 inch belt. Oh its the compact / service 4 inch .40 by the way. Any help would be hot. Thanks

really depends on how you want to carry (IWB,OWB,ankle, shoulder rig, etc). I personally like the IWB uncle mikes size 15 and for OWB the done hume seems to fit well and conceal great under a polo.

Well this would be used for carrying while on duty in full gear. Need it to be on the outside.

The belt width limits the selection of holsters available. Bianchi does offer a Model 7105 Cruiser duty holster for the XD but that's the only one that I know of.

Everyone is specific to what gear they choose. My buddy has always been a huge fan of safariland, they have all kinds of different models for all manners of different pistol make and calibers. I'd recommend checking out Copsplus.com for duty gear as per recommendation of my leo buddy.
the 6280 SLS duty holster from safariland covers the xd in all but compact.

I would go for the Blackhawk CQC (Close Quaters Concealment). It's an IWB leather holstetr and you can adjust the cant. I have a small frame, and can still conceal well with confort.

country, dont you mean a OWB and its not leather, the CQC is a injection molded plastic/ carbon fiber material. I have one for my XD 45 ACP 4" compact. It fits perfect. i have also talked 2 of my co-workers into this holster for their XD as well. It uses the "serpa" retention system to hold the gun so the gun will not wear like what would occur with the "gear" holster. I picked mine up at a local police supply store. Was about $35. They make it in a bling carbon fiber or a plain matte black. It also has the belt loop and paddle attachemnts. My bianchi belt BARELY fits with the loop attachemnt but I prefure the paddle with the duty belt since it does not cause a weird bulge where the belt sits between the 2 loops (gets irritating after a while, but I think once could get use to it). Gun is held securly, I have ran 500 yards at a sprint and its held fine not sure how well it holds up over time (had mine a month), but with the 4" barrell it will not hang out the bottom of the holster. Sits just about flush. Easy to draw easy to holster. And ensures your finger is kept straight with the slide when you draw. Someone trying to wrestle your gun out of it has to know how to do it or break the holster to get it out, IE secure.
EDIT oh and the cant is adjustable with 3 screws in 5 positions. http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=4100 and videos about the product in mention: http://www.blackhawkvideo.com/cqc.html |

No Spoolup. The number is 420411BK (Left or Right). I did say it was IWB, and they call it In-the-Pants. The cant is set by ONE screw and is infinite. It is leather, I dont like the cast mold deals. Seems like they would be too hard on my guns finish. Thanks for the site though, I found the number their.
