Another C-TAC Question Help
New here, been visiting for awhile and I am internet and computer illiterate but I cannot get answers from the local shops so I registered to ask. Looking at the C-TAC as it appears to have a wide stable base on the belt to stop shifting carrying my XD45ACP 4". I believe the grip is too heavy for most holsters unless they have a wide base on the belt. Currently carrying a BladeTech IWB for a year now because that’s all I could find in the shops and it was "the" recommendation. I absolutely hate it. In the morning it feels fine but with-in just a few minutes, the holster shifts back into my back closer to the 5-530 than the 330 or 4 position when putting it on and loses its cant, or at least does not cant as much as I want, like when I first put it on. Accessing while driving will not happen as far back as it will slide driving. During the day at work, I am up and down, squatting, moving and bending all during the day and it is constantly shifting and at times I feel it may fall out or off. In fact, at a local restaurant, while still in the booth to put my coat on, my XD actually fell out. Panicked, I slid it back in to the holster and find out back home that the set screws fell out. LockTite has hopefully fixed this but in all honesty, I cannot go on with the BladeTech. If my body type means anything, I am 5'10" 165-170lbs, 32" waist 40" chest, just average Jon. BladeTech has heard so much from me that they will no longer respond to my emails.
Lastly, how tight to you wear a belt. My Galco belt fixed in the middle hole feels comfortable but with all this shifting and sagging during the day, I snug it up as tight as possible and of course by mid day I am not comfortable at all and must adjust the belt. Still new to carrying even though it’s been a year but with all the trouble I have encountered; 2 break-ins while at home, 1 strung out doper knocking on the door at 3am looking for dope but was at the wrong house and would not take no dope here pall for an answer and I live mid hillside supposedly the good side of town, 3 attempted robberies while out in town, and all the gang shootings at the malls and on the roads here, I must get my carry rig fixed ASAP and believe the C-TAC will fix the shifting and sagging problems? |

The Beltman can make a belt with velcro into it...or something like that to keep it from sliding. I think Comp-tach themselves could also help you out. Give them both a call:
P.S. With the C.T.A.C. your gun locks in by the design and your cant is set according to what hole you have your screws in. Don't have to worry about any of those things there... http://www.comp-tac.com/ http://www.thebeltman.net/ |
