Carry while cycling?
Curious if anyone has any good ideas on how to carry while road-biking. The clothes are too tight to really hide anything and I don't like wearing fanny packs. Any suggestions?

Not sure what kind of gun you have but we bought a thing like a walet that has a strap and can be slung around the neck or over the shoulder. It fits our Kel-Tec really well. I also carry a blackhawk fanny pack when biking.

I only mountain bike off-road now, and carry using fannypack. Not sure of any other way to both make secure yet quickly accessible

if you have a small gun you could mod one of the little pouches that attaches to the frame and seat rail.

I mountain bike but I've never carried while doing so. However, I do use a Camel-Bak when I bike. A lot of them have pockets like a back pack. You could easily either hide a gun in there or sow a small hoster in there to fit any handgun. If I ever carry while I bike, that will be the way. I'm not sure I'd like the way a fanny pack would feel.

You need a S&W airweight revo or a kel-tec.
I don't wear tight clothes when I mountain bike, so I can pretty much stash it anywhere. Hell I've mountain biked with a full size holstered Sig. Riding through rough Cleveland neighborhoods, Ive heard "nice bike" in a not so sincere way if you know what i mean. |

I carry a Kel-Tec P-32 in the factory zippered pouch in one of the rear jersey pockets when riding on the road. I don't even notice that it's there. Not the fastest presentation but, at least I have something with me!
Since all of the mountain bike trails I ride on are on either USFS or SC Forestry Commission land, I don't carry a gun.

Camelbak makes some pretty small back packs. They are light enough that you probably won't notice it after a few minutes. As has been pointed out, I'm not sure how quickly you could access. On the other hand, if your instincts tell you something isn't right, the pack comes off easy and you could have your hand inside without letting anyone know what you were holding.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nick

That's an interesting question, I've seen posted on other sites. I normally stick to the bikepaths. Where I live we have many miles to travel. During the summer months the news usually reports a rape or molesting that occurred on the paths. The victims are usually young girls on roller blades with an Ipod stuck in their ears. Talk about a perfect target. When I ride my road bike I sometimes wear a small pack. I've thought about conceal carry in the pack, but I'm concerned some ***hole taking my pack rather than my bike. Packs of any kind normally carry valuables of some kind, i.e., wallet, cash, "a gun". The smallest auto I own is a Sig P229. It's too heavy for me to lug around in a small pack. Maybe you could try one of those heavy duty handle bar mount bag carriers. I have one that is lined with thick plastic. With some additional padding it should do fine. Plus, it's really accessible up front on the bars.
