Are Trijicons, Meprolights brighter than Truglo TFO's?

In terms of brightness, are standard night sights like Trijicon and Meprolight brighter than Truglo TFO's? Thank you.

TFO sights are brighter because the fiber rod amplifies the tritium glow.

I just picked up a set of TRUGLO Tritium/Fiber Optic TFO sights for my XD-9 Service model and though they are not installed yet, they give great optical clarity in dark conditions and if there is any ambiant light in the room, they glow even brighter. I'm sure shooting outdoors in the sun would make them insanely bright.

I decided on having these installed by a smith that was recommended to me @ SharpShooters here in Torrance, CA. I should have them on sometime next week.

I haven't compared them side-by-side with the other sights, but I would be hard pressed to imagine the others to be any brighter. I can see my TFOs clearly in total darkness.

I just got my XD45 slide back from James at XDHS2000, the TFO's are the brightest sights I've ever seen...moreso that Meps or Trijicon.

Awesome product. I still need to see how they print though. Hopefully dead nuts at 25 yards.

Even the TruGlo non-fiber optic Tritiums are brighter than the Tritium brand or Meprolight. I have the TruGlo Brite Site (Tritium but no fiber optic) on my XD45 Compact. I prefer it to the TruGlo TFOs - less "busy" look on a short slide and they serve my needs well. Having said that, if I had to have one set of Tritium night sights, it would be the Heinie or if a Glock, the Heinie or the Warren Tactical.

Again, not as bright but very good for me are the Ameriglo - yellow rear and green front Tritiums. Very sharp. I have them on my XD357Sig Service and am very pleased.

I haven't compaired them side by side, but I have the Trijicons and love them. On my next I may compair but I really like the Trijicons.

You need to go and compair themyourself to see what you like and don't like.

+1. If everyone liked the same thing, we'd all be driving Fords. (What a thought). There is nothing wrong with any of these sights. You get what works best for you, not me, you.

I bought two sets of the Trijicons. I have not used any other night sights.
