drop leg holster for XD?

I don't have much of a use currently for a drop leg holster.. but.. I want one. I figure worst case scenerio, shtf situation.. one may come in handy, especially if you are using a long gun as well. I currenly have a blackhawk cqc serpa holster. Does anyone have their drop leg attachment for that? I've been considering getting that just because I have the holster already. Granted, I can probably get a whole new holster with drop leg for cheaper than i can the attatchment for my serpa.

So what do you think? I suppose another thing to keep in mind is possibly using a light.. I don't have to have it.. but it's either get the blackhawk drop leg, or some other brand. What drop legs do any of you use, and how do you like them?

safariland makes some, even ones that will work with the light attached to the pistol, but they won't be less expensive than the drop leg platform for your blackhawk. Also, the drop leg platform for your serpa has picatinny rails to mount your light on the drop leg right next to the gun. You can buy the tactical holster from blackhawk that comes with the holster already mounted on the drop leg. It is more expensive, but then you don't have move the holster around.

Cheaper still is to have a solid quick release buckle belt with your current holster and mag pouch on it. What could be quicker that putting that belt and clicking it on over your clothes? No leg things to worry about. And I can't see how that would be more cumbersome than a drop leg if working with long gun.

I don't have the drop leg myself, but I have been thinking about getting one for hiking.

Blackhawk makes a drop rig for the SERPA holsters. I don't have the drop rig, but love the SERPA holster!

we all carry lights on our pistols for swat, the serpa is great but they dont have it with a light, safriland doesnt make one...yet, but I wouldnt buy one anyway, I use the blade-tech thigh holster, XD40 Tac with a light.....love it. friction locks in place and you can snap it if you want, but its not necessary, and the thumb break snaps out of the way when not in use

Serpa

The last time I looked the serpa drop leg was not out for the XD. You can take the regular serpa belt holster and remove the belt clip/loop. Now take it and mount it on the drop leg serpa platform, it takes the same three allen screws as all of the other serpas do. The cool thing is the level's 1,2,3 serpas will all do the sameand mount on the drop platform.

I've got a Serpa drop leg for my XD's. I know some people don't like the Serpa lock, but I love it.

I'd have to buy the drop leg platform for it anyways, as I already have the holster. I have very little use for a drop leg, but I want it for shtf situation. God forbid we ever have a breakdown of society, but it's happened before in certain cities and people were forced to protect their homes by use of foce, or just a show of force through a gun. If I gotta have my rifle out, I want quick access to my pistol as well. A drop leg would be quicker to me than having the gun mounted up on my waist.
