Which thigh holster fits an XD40 tactical?
Anyone know who makes a thigh holster that the XD40 Tactical fits in?
All the best, Glenn

Uncle Mikes makes one that I used for a while. Pretty decent set-up, not a bad price.

Thank you for the reply. Do you happen to have a model number, as I have looked through the Mikes holsters and have not seen one?
Thanks, Glenn

John,
Thanks for the link. I followed the other link that you posted on that one to the Michaels of Oregon site, but still did not see the XD listed on the models list here: http://www.uncle-mikes.com/compare.a...pinvky=5666314 The only one that said anything about a 5" barrel was the model 19, but that states "1911 types". Is that the one you are refering to? Sorry for all the questions, but as I said before, I still have yet to find a single thigh holster that is made for the XD40 Tactical. All the best, Glenn

Gawd, I think I just beat this topic to death a few weeks ago..
What are you looking to do with the holster? What is your upper price limit? I'll admit right now that I wouldn't buy another Uncle Mikes product, but that's because I paid my dues buying stuff that just flat didn't work for me. Generally speaking I have 3 types of setups.. IWB, Upper Body and Lower Body. Let us know what you're looking to actually do with it, hell if you're only taking it to the range for look cool factor then the UM should work. If not and you're set on Kydex (or simular) check out the Safariland 6004's.. it's a huge market when you start talking about tacti-cool gear, price is what will determine what works best for you

If anyone actually knows where I can get a thigh holster for a XD40 tactical, I'd greatly appreciate if you have time to respond. I want a "right fit" thigh holster for this weapon, and I am really not interested in hip holsters or shoulder holsters, as I find them uncomfortable.
Whats up with all the hostility on this site? I've only been here a few days, and so far... I've seen some really crappy responses to questions. All the best, Glenn

Cajuntec, I certainly didn't mean to come across as hostile.
I personally have very specific preferences in equipment, mostly tactical gear, not everyone does. For me thigh holsters generally fall into two area's.. Tactical and Competition. As you'll find here, there are always a lot of questions about holsters. One of the better ways to start would be the search function. I don't say that to be rude, but there is already a great deal of information available in previous threads. As for finding the right holster for you, I asked a few questions that would help me try to help you. What are you wanting to use it for and how much are you looking or expecting to pay. These types start at the $10-20 range and go all the way past $300 and then some. They all fit a need and use. If you're just wanting something to use at the range, that need is different than the folks taking a lot of tactical training. So with those questions answered, I can at least start pointing you at some of the products I know of and not waste your time too much.

Why the Safariland 6004 holster of course.
Model 6004-148-122 fits the following: Springfield XD-357 (4" bbl), Right Handed Springfield XD-40 (4" bbl), Right Handed Springfield XD-9 (4" bbl), Right Handed Springfield XD-45 (4" bbl), Right Handed HS America HS 2000 9mm (4" bbl), Right Handed Model 6004-149-121 fits the following: Springfield XD-357 (5" bbl), Right Handed Springfield XD-45 (5" bbl), Right Handed Springfield XD-40 (5" bbl), Right Handed Or get a Blackhawk Serpa holster for the XD (a pretty decent holster) and mount it on Blackhawk's modular leg drop.

longtab - THANK YOU!!!! That is exactly what I have been looking for. I did a google search on that model number, and came up with a few dealers, so now I have some options of places to buy. Thank you very much for your help. I had checked out the Safariland holsters, but couldn't find exactly what I needed - the model numbers helped tremendously. I need to get that Model 6004-149-121 for my 5" XD40, so now I'm just price shopping.
Badshot - I may have taken things the wrong way, and if that is the case, then I'm sorry. I'm extremely into archery, and post on several sites regarding that sport, and normally am not used to coming across the kinds of posts that I have seen here. When someone asks a question about something specific on most of those boards, they usually get the answer they are looking for (i.e. - what type of vertical inline sight would be good for hunting from a treestand? would not get a response of "why do you want that type of sight? They already know what they want, so I would respond with something like - The Matrix from Trophy Ridge for hunting would make an excellent choice in either the .019 or .029 pins. My preference is.....). I never refer someone to the "search" button. If I know where a post is, I cut and paste a link to it. Otherwise, if I don't know, I leave it alone. I see the "Gawd, I think I just beat this topic to death a few weeks ago.. " types of posts, combined with another that I had seen from someone else, saying something to the effect of "ok, I'll be THAT guy.... the SEARCH button is your friend...." to be really crappy ways to welcome a new person looking for information. I know how to use a search button, and have been searching for days - here and other places. I just wasn't finding what I am asking for, and that is an "exact fit" thigh holster for my weapon. I've run into several "why do you want to...." replies, with no answers to my questions. I find it frustrating to ask a question, and then get a question in reply, when I already know what type I am looking for. I'm not trying to be rude, but all I was looking for is an answer like longtab gave - extremely informative. I now have the information I was looking for. Thank you all very much for the responses. All the best, Glenn
