Suppressor for XD 9mm
Hi,
Im researching a-bit about suppressors. Im wondering if anyone has one on their XD 9mm and how they did it? I have read that you need a threaded barrel or threaded adaptor for this, so my 4" service model would need a bit of an extension to reach out past the slide for you to thread the suppressor on. |

Yes, you have to have a threaded barrel.. I belive there are two different threads, one SAE and one Metric. I have SAE threads for mine. It sticks out about 3/8" past the barrel, and it has a thread protector that screws over the threads.
Just make sure you fill out the proper paperwork in order to GET the supressor before dumping a bunch of money into another barrel.

Assuming you live in a state that allows silencer ownership (all do not) then I have the following suggestions.
First, join www.silencertalk.com and check out the info there on different types of cans, etc.... Find a stocking dealer of the can you want and have him help you with the paperwork (form 4, trust or corporate purchase) Pay the ATF 200 bucks and wait for them to approve your application. During that time you will know the thread pitch you need for your barrel. I am waiting on my AAC Evo 9 right now. From check cashing to approval takes about 35 days |
