.22 Conversion for XD

The good news: Advantage Arms is showing off a .22 Conversion for the Springfield XD.

The bad news: it won't be available till the END of 2007.

Got this info off of www.gunblast.com. They have a picture in their SHOT SHOW 2007 link.

Yup, AJames reported the same thing, and had posted pictures in the Shot Show thread. Bummer it will take that long for them to finish the development phase.

Hmmmm...the guy at the Advantage Arms booth today told me about 2-3 months. $249 with one mag and all in a nice case. $25 per extra magazine....maybe he was just telling me that so I would quit drooling all over his prototype!!!!!

Let's hope they get it to market sooner rather than later. I need one!

Cool - I didn't know there was a SHOT Show thread started already. The pictures by James are great. Especially about the new TFO sights!! That is FANTASTIC news!!!! And with the .22 conversion coming, I am happier than a tick on a hound dogs ear!!

Now I just have to be patient, and save up my money for the new goodies. Unfortunately, it looks like I will have lots of time to do that!

I'm actually surprised that it's taken this long to get an AA kit on the market. The XD was named the hangun of the year for 2006, and it seems it was the handgun of the year in 2004 too? Does anyone remember? For such a popular gun, you'd think they would have capitalized on the popularity awhile ago. I for one will be buying the conversion kit. Money well spent in my opinion. Sure, people complain that you could get a new gun for that cost, but you are getting a new gun, but still with your old frame, same trigger. Actually, I think it will be downright fun to shoot the .22 on the XD frame.

Personaly, I'm glad that they took the time to get everything right. I'd much rather wait to get a product that wasn't rushed to market.
