9mm and .40sw holster same?
Sorry folks, I tried searching but "9" and "40" have too few characters to search with.
So can I use all my existing holsters or will I need to buy new gear? I'm thinking of adding a 9 compact for a backup and 40 service for off duty. Thanks!

The 9 will fit in the .40 holster if the compact you refer to is the sub-compact. SC holsters can be made to fit the 4" sometimes as well. It usually takes a bit of modification on the end. When comparing 2 4" Service models in 9mm and .40, they are the same size.

Basically, all xd's are the same except the 9mm service and the 9mm tactical's slides are a bit skinnier. (Source: comp-tac sales support)

I use the same Crossbreed Supertuck for my XD9 service, XD40 sub, and XD45 service. i can't tell any different. They all work in my Blackhawk too.

This weekend I tried shoving a .40 sub compact into my comp-tac holster and it was very snug. I bet I could back out the retention screw a tad and it'd be ok.
Unfortunately most of my holsters are leather.
