AFAIK, the only way it would be legal would be if you only ever had possesion of one of them. If you had the stock by itself it would be legal and if you didn't have the stock and had possesion of the XD it would be legal but you can't even possess both. That's the way it is with MG parts; I'd assume that it's similar to other NFA/Class III parts, but then again there's not exactly a flowing logic to those regulations.

If you really want to know, write a letter to the BATFE's technical department. You'll get an answer in writing.

If you buy a glock stock and make no modifications to it you should be OK. But if you even start to modify it to fit a pistol you own it shows intent and that is enough to go on a long vacation in Club Fed.

But the batfe doesn't think reasonably, so you might be in trouble even if you don't modify the stock. So better safe than sorry. Buy the stock after you get your approved Form 1.

Better yet talk to a liscenced Class III manufacturer and have them see if it's possible to modify the stock and/or an XD to make them work together. If it's possible you fill out your forms, get your tax stamp and buy it from them.
