Left Handed SERPA

New to the forums...

I contacted Sales at Blackhawk about a CQC Carbon Fiber SERPA holster and they basically told me to take a hike. At this point in my search, I would basically settle for any SERPAs for a lefty.

Is your heart set on a Serpa? If you do a search on this forum, you will find a lot of haters.

If you don't mind broadening your horizons, try looking at the Blade Tech line at www.pistolgear.com

I don't personally own one of their belt holsters (I just have the UCH), but if you do a search on this site and others(ie. packing.org), you will find mostly praise and very little negativity.

I've been contacting them for a SERPA for a southpaw for over a year (email every few months). Every response is "no plans to make one." I even offered to let them use my gun as a mold (not that they'd need it, but I offered).

So, I'm not optimistic. They make southpaw holsters for Sigs, Glocks, HKs, Berettas, and 1911s (prolly a few others. But, I'm not checking at the moment).

JJG, I'm not thrilled about the tension screw concept, which is why I want to try a SERPA. Thanks for the info though.

As far as Blackhawk is concerned, it reminds me of being in school and having to use a right-handed desk. It still got the job done but was a pain to deal with.

I really like my serpa. Only negative is it doesn't ride real close to the body. Makes a nice "winter" holster under a coat though. Stinks they don't make an XD lefty.

I just picked up my SERPA about an hour ago, and was helping my buddy at the store with his Blackhawk order. He wanted to know what holsters to get, and I told him if he see's anything for the XD, he should at least get a couple. We went through that catalog for their holsters, and there was not ONE lefthand holster for the XD. They had them for the Glocks, 1911's, Berettas, etc. Not one part number in that new catalog for a left hand model.

You know... I've been messing with this holster I just got, and I've determined that it doesn't hold the weapon as solid as the one for my Glock did. It has some front to rear "rocking" room in it. Anyone have any thoughts on how to snug it up some? I've got the tension screw pretty well cranked down, but that only affects the tension of the holster that holds onto the trigger guard.

I haven't looked at mine much since it's not a lefty, but I think there is room behind the trigger guard where you could drill a hole an fit a small bolt/nut through to adjust it. Not pretty, but paint the hardware black and it might solve the problem.
