Wondering about Don's Guide Rod & Spring....

I plan on getting Don's Guide Rod & Spring kit, but I don't know which spring # I should get. My XD 40 will be used for Private Security Details. I was reading about the #22 spring, and how the shooter said double taps seemed to be harder to do, if this is so should I go with the 20? What are some suggestions.

An 18# spring will match the factory stock spring force, but will still hold the slide closed against the striker spring. I like the 22# as it controls muzzle flip well and spreads the recoil force out over time, so it is better controlled in the grip. The 24# is even more reducing, but requires quite a bit of grip strength to cycle the slide by hand.
Ask and you shall receive. I think you should be fine with a 22# spring.

I know it well.
USAF SF(LE)/EST '92-'96...before they combined everything.

Take care, brother.
