XD Gear for Lefties
Anyone know if Springfield has the XD Gear holster available in leftie. My wife just picked up herself a XD-40SC and she likes the slide that comes with it but she's a leftie. Thanks!

I've looked for one for myself but had no luck. If I were you I'd probably look elsewhere for a holster (and possibly mag holder) as you can probably find better quality for the same price as the XD gear stuff.
I just have a cheap Uncle Mike's holster and I'm looking for a new mag holder since having the mags face different directions is a little weird if you're trying to reload fast. For now, I'm pleased with my UM holster though I've been eying some of the Don Hume holsters recently (all available lefty). |

im a leftie and the best advice i can give you is look for different holsters. the xd gear is good for other things but not for lefties. i use a blade-tech uch or sob holster for carry if thats any help.

I am a lefty and I strongly suggest www.pistolgear.com for your lefthanded gear. They are a sponsor on this board and my dealings with them have been A+

hey you can use the holster they give you which is right handed as an IWB holster in the left side. It works well, then take a piece of leather and cut it to the shape of your GAD. glue the leather to the side of the holster that contacts the body. tilt the holster slightly forward for better concealment. very comfortable and saves you about 50 bucks at the least.

According to SA's XD brochure, it is possible to order XD Gear holsters for lefties... I was thinking about getting one, but after the reviews I've read about the XD gear holsters I think I'd rather spend my money on a better holster... especially for CCW

Do yourself a favor and forget about the Lefty XD Holster. As a blessed lefty myself, and owning the XD holster (right sided) I can attest to how worthless they are. Order a crossbreed and be done with it all. www.crossbreedholsters.com |

Called Springfield Friday to check on the availability of the left handed holster. To my surprise, they checked my serial number & indicated that they would mail it to me free of charge & without having to return the original right handed holster to them... great customer service!
