Clipdraw + XD45 + Left handed = problem

Thought I would post this since I didn't see it anywhere when I was researching the Clipdraw here.

I purchased one to try it out after reading a bunch of positive reports here and on their website. Got the unit and installed it - very simple. Then I noticed: can't rotate the dissassembly lever up. Well you can but you can't drop the slide afterwards to dissassemble. Your choices are to install the Clipdraw WAY back, thus putting most of the gun down inside your pants (I know some like this) or put it way up high on the slide, which is what I did.

It's holding there fine, a testament to the tape. I did ruin three pieces of tape finding a good place for the Clipdraw but they give you like six so it's okay. It seems to be holding fine and is comfortable for those who don't mind carrying basically mexican and aren't freaked out by not having the trigger covered. The only annoying thing so far is having the Clipdraw so high on the slide puts it right into view when sighting. I'm thinking I'll get used to this.

Just wanted to get this up here so if any lefties are thinking about trying one, they know in advance. I can post some pictures if anyone needs to see my setup.

M

As a lefty I'd would like to see that as well! I just about ordered one today for my new XD-SC but I decided that I didn't really want to wear my pistol up against my skin due to rust potential. I measured on my tactical and it looks like it would be fitting perfectly (In fact, it looked like it would be much more comfortable than wearing it right handed with all those gun controls sticking you in the side!

Here are some pictures I took today. I still like it. When I get in and out of cars a lot the gun tends to pitch forward a bit. Not sure if this is a result of the higher pivot point. I still have yet to fire the gun so not sure how having the clip so prevelent in my sight picture is going to be.
