Does anyone have a picture of their black XD fitted with a stainless barrel? I'm wondering how it would look.

How about with an extended SS barrel?

My slide has no finish wear yet, but the rear portion of my barrel, the block-shaped part that is exposed by the ejection port of the slide, has scratches and wear on both sides. Thinking about getting a new one. Or should I just send it somewhere to be refinished? Thoughts?

it's part of the cycling of the gun. Even the aftermarket stainless bbl's will end up w/ wear marks if you shoot it. You could just polish up the the locking block and be done w/ it. You'll still end up w/ wear marks as you use it.

yeah unless I get a new barrel and have it Duracoated along with my slide. Probably end up doing that.

Who sells the stainless barrels for XD? Interested in getting one for 9mm Svc.

Late edit: after a little shoppin', ordered an EFK extended SS barrel. Not expecting major accuracy enhancements, but the bling factor is there. Between that and the SS DGR I slapped in a couple days ago, should be one stylin' peashooter.

I just recently found out that Duracoating the barrel keeps it from fully fitting back into the slide. I had done the whole thing and during reassembly found it would not fully fit back into the slide, which I had also just done. I ended up just polishing the barrel and left the locking block Duracoated. I'm interested in seeing out it wears since I had the block polished prior to the Duracoating...

if you do a little searching on this forum, you'll find ALOT of info on polishing your barrel, about 2 months ago we sorta had a big flare up of people doing this... I myself also polished my barrel, mainly because it wears anyway, and I like the look of the crown of the barrel being stainless it goes good with a dgr... as for rust, Mines been polished for about 2 months, and hasn't rusted once...
