Trigicon or Truglo
I am thinking about getting these installed on my XD40. Any thoughts on color combos or either manufacturer that I should consider. Thanks in advance.

I had TruGlo sights installed on my XD 45 last week.
With tritium as well. A few things you want to concider: It appears that the factory XD sights are very hard to get off. The gunsmith that did mine had to saw the front sight in half (almost) to let it relax before he could get it off with a special tool. 2nd: Read the instructions that come with Truglo; Main reason is that you have to be careful with gunsolvents on them. Especially Breakfree Powderblast and like products will fog them up. In the instructions it actually says: "Remove sights before cleaning. " Yeah...sure ...my gunsmith will be laughing his butt off. Charging $35 for each time I need to clean my gun! But, I love them! And it looks a lot cooler than I had anticipated (more mean sort of)

I am sure not going to have someone take them off everytime I need my XD cleaned. |

Put a piece of masking or clear tape over the sights before spraying anything at or near them. I would not immerse them in anything.
I use the trijicon sights, all green. I considered yellow rear but decided it's harder to misalign them than people say. There is only one way that "looks right" so I went with all green dots. Not hard to find the front sight either. I had my gun into SA for repairs to the trigger bar spring (read: free shipping) and had them install these for me at their custom shop. FWIW the sights are dead on balls accurate. |

I have the Trijicons, my XD-9 came from SA with them pre-installed. I don't have any comparison to the others, but my Triji's are awesome. From what I've heard, you can't go wrong with either, but Trijicon's get my vote. They also appear to have a lower profile than most of the other brands that I have seen. Good luck.

Either one - depends on your preference. I have Trijicon's (only because I got a good deal on them) but have already had to have the rears replaced.....

Why would you have to have them replaced??

My sc 9 came with trijis and they are a clear picture in the dark. I would have preferred a different color front sight though.

I got yellow/green TFO on my XD-45
Really like the sights, but wish I would have gone green/green. The yellow is pretty faint.
