Duracoat...
Anybody know if Duracoat has an official home site?
A guy I shoot with does Duracoating and I saw a buddy of mines gun that he did, and it looks great, the guy even let him "torture test" his Sig 229... He took the 229's slide and grabbed it by the muzzle and rear site area, and rubbed it up and down the edge of a wooden work bench as hard as he could for about 2 minutes, and all it did was make a little shiny spot, and when he took a rag and wiped it it looked like brand new, and that was before the 229 slide cured all the way... pretty impressive... |

Go to Google, type in Duracoat and hit the search key. Count down five addresses and there ya go.

Nothing from first hand experience; just what I've read on line.

I'm wonderin if you coat the inside of the slide rails, with a light coat if a result of that would be the slide tightening to the frame at all....?

Oh probably but only for a short while until it wares off. The torture test you mentioned actually did nothing since the wooden work bench is naturally softer than the duracoating and the wood would take the wearing rather than the duracoat finish. But do the same thing metal on metal and I would think for sure the duracoat finish would wear (off) much faster.

Yeah, but do that with the OLD springfield armory finish... Still to me even it being wood, it did pretty good...
