Blackhawk SERPA Holster JUNK???
Last week I ordered a Blackhawk Tactical SERPA drop-leg platform for my XD45 (I already have the SERPA CQC). I have not even received the platform yet and tonight I find this:
http://www.teddytactical.com/archive...01_Feature.htm Basically, there are multible events where the holster has failed and several events where the holster contributed to AD's. Anyone else have info/experience on this?

Honestly, I've used mine for over a year now at bi-weekly IDPA shoots without a complaint. It is a very nice holster, mechanically sound, and a joy to use. Frankly, I'll never be fast enough on the draw to need to use the tip of my finger like the article describes. I feel like thedraw is plenty fast an easy enough to do as described by Blackhawk. I'd say try yours...you'll probably like it. No matter how well designed a product is, someone, somewhere will find out how to hurt themselves with it.

Mine's a Blackhawk CQC, rather than a SERPA, but I've been using it heavily for USPSA for over a year now with 0 problems.

I have been using my CQC for almost 4 weeks and I have not experienced any problems either. I'm not so worried about the AD issue or the jamming of the lock mechanism as much as I am worried about the holster seperating from the platform. For examply, when crawling on the ground and having brush snagging the weapon.
Thanks for your input, it makes me feel a little better about my investment.

The only thing I have heard about it is from an armored car guy I deal with at work. I noticed he had one and I asked him how he liked it. He said that he liked it, except the screws that held the holster to the mechanism that attaches to the belt came loose, and caused it (gun and holster) to fall to the ground. He said that he had called it in and they were sending out new screws and recommended that he use lock-tite on the threads. BTW, he carries an XD9 service (His company won't let him carry a .45 on the job. He didn't explain their reasoning for that, so don't bother asking me.)

the only complaint i have is that i cant find the damn standoffs for the holster being a 300 lbs asian guy and having a polymer close body holster dont mix so well

Sticking your finger on the trigger while drawing a glock (or XD) can be done with ANY holster. As they say....KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE!
Apparently 150 hours of training wasn't enough...... Semp
