Anyone have a ported Fire Dragon barrel on their XD? I have been thinking of getting one since the gun show last weekend where I got to see them on a few different models. Damn they look nice

yeah, i have one for my 40Service and 40Tactical.

in regards to your question, i think it depends on why you want one. if you want to downsize to a cheaper more affordable round, then yes get the conversion. I did this by going to a 9mm. I also wanted less recoil so i got it ported and I thought it looked cool too.

However, for me, i know i want to do IDPA soon and the ported isnt allowed. if that isn't an issue your decision is simple.

I really like my ported barrels. The way the feel and look.

I think my Tactical looks even sweeter. i'll have to post a pic. i'll try and do that tomorrow.

by the way, if you have an xd9 already and just want a ported barrel, i'm not sure if that's worth $179 plus shipping and tax. with downsizing, you at least end up with two guns (to bores)

I have the 9mm conversion for my 40 service. I like it a lot!! I had to file some the pieces on the barrel to get it to fit right but if I can do that anyone can. I have fired about 400 rounds through it without any problems. I bought it so I can mess around with the 9mm since it is cheaper and so I could get used to my gun. Hope this helps.
