New to the gun and forum with a ??

Hi everyone...Im Joe...recently out of the Marines...doing private personal security ...proud owner and carrier of XD-9 Sub....I searched for a bit and had no luck...so sorry if this topic has already been beaten to a pulp...please direct me to the right place.

Anyways, being a smaller guy-150lbs with not much padding around the waist area, Im looking for recommendations for a IWB holster from similar guys. I am a jeans and t-shirt guy and again, being thin makes it hard to conceal my weapon...so any help is greatly appreciated. I will probably end up ordering a few different holsters and keeping the one i like, returning the rest!

Thanks in advance for any help!

-Joe

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm not your size - I'm 5'11" 180, but not overweight. For great fitting/comfort IWB, www.crossbreedholster.com, SuperTuck. I use that to carry both my XD9SC and XD45 Service. I carry at about 430 position, which for me, tucks in the grip best and with FBI cant, still very good draw access.

I also ordered DeSantis pocket holster for my XD9SC, as I ofter wear shorts with BDU pockets, although I haven't received yet. ebay for about $15.

Finally, I also ordered www.smartcarry.com - as sometimes with my "work" clothes (slacks, tucked dress shirt/polo shirt), and no jacket, IWB won't work.

I'm a little bit of a lightweight myself. I'm about 6' and 165 lbs.

I really like my Fist #19, but I also carry it slightly behind my hip.

I don't care what anybody says, the comfort of a leather holster can't be argued with. I can wear my XD all day long with no discomfort.

I think You'll find that you'll get an overwhelming vote for the Crossbreed Supertuck. It has taken this forum by storm, and most of us have one/ have one on order (mine should be here in 2 weeks). I also know of 2 other people that I go to school with that have them. They love them. So as I can't speak from experience yet, it sounds like this might be something you are interested. I'm 6'0", 185 lbs, and pretty slim around the waist myself. All of my weight comes from my chest and it is hard for me to conceal as well. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum.

Scratch the DeSantis Nemesis Pocket holster for the XD9SC - doesn't fit right so I'm sending back.

+1 for Crossbreed SuperTuck, also the Crossbreed Ranger, which I just received yesterday. Supernice, tight against the body OWB holster! I'll wear that one when I'm wearing jacket for sure!
