Big guy, CrossBreed...will it work?

I want a concealment holster and I hear good things about the Crossbreed, so I'm looking into it. Now, all the concealment holsters i see are on guys who are somewhat fit, but i'm a big guy. Also a 42 waist, and I have, what the ladies like to call, a "spare tire". I am working on that before anyone says anything. Obviously I want a comfortable holster, but kinda worried it won't be because of the shape of my body.

Is there anyone out there who is in the same physical situation as I am with this holster, and how does it feel? Or, is there a holster that does feel good with my body type?

Thanks in advance.

in my opinion, a little extra around the waist will help conceal a bit better. I have a problem, cuz I have nothing! I know if I was a bit bigger, I could conceal my XD service better wtih the crossbreed qwickclip I just got.

5'11" 250 lbs and I find if I carry IWB I prefer to do crossdraw but that is for me , try it with a holster first and see if you like it, if so don't get the normal forward cant just get a straight draw holster and yes the Love handles help conceal it good that way.

I'm 6', and 175 lbs. I can conceal it decent with the qwick clip, my only problem is how bad I print if I bend over a bit. Being a thicker person, would definitely help you a lot.

At least there's ONE plus to being "thicker" (with respect to body weight, you perverted hornballs)...

Dude, being thick can rock sometimes. Sure, jumping fences sucks....so does running, or even walking distances further than the mailbox. But still, more for the ladies to love.

+1 I am 6'3" and 290. But who needs to jump fences when I can just walk right through them This is a great post, I have been wondering myself if that would cause a problem. I guess the only way to find out is by trial and error. Too bad I don't have the money, so if I get something it better work.

LOL. Literally.

I'm 5'8'', 170lbs; not a big guy at all, but I have "lovehandles". I can see how being bigger can help conceal. It is also a good excuse to give to the old lady, should she complain of your lack of exercise.

"Believe me, honey. If I didn't count on these lovehandles for our safety in this harsh world, I'd be working out everyday. But the fact is, these little rolls of fat save lives. I'm a hero."

SuperTuck

I'm 6'2", 275, 42" waist, and have had my SuperTuck (XD-45 Service) for a little over a week. The leather's pretty stiff, but Mark explains that you need to wear it and work it with some leather treatment to get the best fit. So far it is the best IWB holster I've ever tried, but there is still some discomfort (hope that goes away) when sitting, especially in the truck/car. The top of the leather pad (next to the back end of the slide) gets me under the rib cage. I'm still experimenting with raising/lowering/canting for the best fit. I do realize this is a big pistol for IWB, especially since inside my waistband is pretty full already. All-in-all, I'd buy it again. Thx, Mark!

Also, I do have to crank on my belt to keep the 14rd XD-45 in place.
