I just sent my slide off to James for duracoat and TFOs. Lately, I've been hearing this: TFOs are great for a shooter, but bad for CCW. How many people here carry with TFOs? This will be my carry gun and I'm not being very reassured. Please help.

As Long as you have a leather or Kydex holster you'll be fine. The TFO have a tendency to snag on those old soft material, uncle mike type holsters. It's the Front sight that get's caught.

If you stay away from that, you'll love the TFO for CCW.

Ok, that helps alot, especially seeing your signature. I've ordered a supertuck from Crossbreed and hope to use it for CCW. They use kydex right? In that case, I should be fine. Good to know. Thanks.

Let Mark know other wise you may have to make a slight mod to your holster cause they are longer.My tfo's are about 1.5 years and they are awsome I plan to put set on my 1911 if these ever burn out

Email just sent. I think I sent my order in 2 or 3 weeks ago, so maybe he hasn't gotten to it yet since it is a 6 week wait. Thanks for the advice.

I don't own a crossbreed product, so I could tell you what his manufacturing process is or what material they use. I beleive many folks report enjoying the Hume.

They are Kydew and leather and great for the dollars

Green/Yellow TFO's and a Crossbreed IWB Supertuck. Works like a charm.

No worries guys, I clear all XD rigs for TFOs now. Stock sights still fit OK too.
For the record the TFO prob is/was only an issue with the sub compact guns

What color are the TFOs normally? Since I just ordered mine from James, but didn't specifiy a color, which am I going to get? I guess I was assuming that I'd get green/green.
