I use these red jelly earplugs I tried out yesterday, they work great. I was with my ex at the time and she had to yell a little bit to hear me.

My wife and I use Leightning L3's. They're comfortable, cost about $30 a pair, and have a 31 dB rating. If I'm at an indoor range, I usually double up with the foam softies underneath for a little more safety.
